Jerrod Max is a twenty-seven year old chronic underachiever with a drinking problem, combat-induced PTSD, a life that is quietly going nowhere, and a girl friend who for reasons unknown sticks with him. Everything changes when he comes into possession of a device that may be the most powerful piece of technology on the planet, and that may make him the most powerful person in the world. And it fits in the palm of his hand.
The obvious question is: What is he going to do with it? A less obvious question is, what’s he going to do about the government agents who want the device and are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. And then there’s that pesky little Presidential assassination plot the device has gotten him tangled up in. And the murder of a Navy officer that the FBI and NCIS think he committed. Things start getting interesting when a fleet of alien warships shows up, looking for the device and two of their people who have gone missing somewhere on the planet.
All Jerrod has to do is keep the President of the United States alive, stop a military coup, get himself off the FBI’s most-wanted list, find and rescue the two missing aliens, and return them and the device to the alien fleet. Hopefully without losing his day job. Should be easy.
